The Cyclone Nivar has resulted in many people getting shifted to the relief camps in Chennai now.

It is now said that 200 people who have moved into these encamps have been shifted to the quarantine centres of GCC after they showed influenza lie symptoms. The screening for Covid-19 is being carried out now for these people.

As per the deputy commissioner heath belonging to GCC Divya Darshini, the samples have been collected and many have been isolated. She added that GCC had appointed 3 persons in every relief centre to work in 3 shifts and ensure that people in the corporation care centres wear facemasks and maintain social distancing all the time. She threw light on the GCC efforts to control the spread of Dengue in Chennai city.

Truth is that GCC is spraying bleaching powder and lime powder mixture on the streets corners and in the inundated streets. Information is GCc is also making sure that the robotic machines and amphibians used to clear garbage blocking the SWD, canals and lakes are ready.

This would be a precaution to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. The slums in Chennai are now focussed to avoid dengue. To concentrate on the communicable diseases, GCC is planning to use the iGot Covid-19 patient monitoring portal.
