The ‘online’ practical examinations for the students of engineering courses are scheduled to be conducted from 17th December to 30th December.
The State Government has approved the conducting of the semester examinations for December 2020 for the higher education students studying in the graduate and postgraduate courses.
Accordingly, the online practical examinations for the engineering students are scheduled to be conducted from 17th December to 30th December.
In this situation, the Examinations Regulation Council of the Anna University has released a detailed notification regarding the guidelines to be followed while conducting the online practical examinations as mentioned above:
- Suitable operating platforms must be set up for online practical examinations. It should be an ‘open’ platform with scientific software applications, modelling equipment, designing software integrated with a comprehensive assessment system for the performance in the online practical examinations.
- The external examinations will consist of questions as per the syllabus for the practicals. The practical test can be conducted using the open internet platforms such as Google and Microsoft.
- The usual suitable procedural system adopted by the universities/colleges must be followed for conducting these online practical examinations.
- ‘A4’ size sheets must be used for answering the practical examination questions. This examination will be conducted for 3 hours with a maximum of 00 marks.
- After completing answering the examination question papers, the candidates must send a copy of the answers to the e-mail address of the concerned examiners. They will correct the same and award the marks.
- The examiners will have to send the above copy of answer-sheets to the Regional Office. The Zonal Office will then sort out the answer-sheets college-wise and subject-wise and then download the same on CD (Compact Disc) and send the same to The Examinations Regulation Council.
- A total of 17 guidelines have been notified including the permission to allow the ‘flying squad’ for inspection of the online practical examination being conducted.
