Now, 477 seats are remaining vacant after the MBBS/BDS counselling in TN

Admission to the government as well as self financing colleges in TN for MBBS/BDS under the general category has come to an end on Thursday. It is now said that there are still 275 MBBS seats vacant in the government medical colleges and 202 seats in the self financing colleges in TN. On Friday, the counselling for those students belonging to SC/ST/SCA categories would begin based on the community rank.
Jawaharlal Nehru stadium was buzzing with activities yesterday as 551 general category students were called for counselling. Out of 551 students 93 were allotted MBBS/BDS seats.
Information collected was that out of 393 students who took part in the counselling as many as 42 secured MBBS seats in the government colleges in TN and 10 students for self financing institutions.
In the general category, as many as 2643 candidates have been allotted MBBS/BDs seats. Fifteen seats at the government colleges were filled during the day and this was for BDS admissions. There are still as many as51 seats vacant in BDS now.
On Thursday, 26 seats were filled and there are still 896 vacant seats at the self financing institutions in TN. Truth is that 296 candidates have been placed in the waiting list and this was in the general category list. On Friday and on Saturday, the counselling for the SC category of students would be conducted. The SC students between community ranks 261 and 1076 could attend the counselling. On Saturday, counselling for ST as well as SCA categories would take place.
