It is planned to conduct online counselling for 17 auxiliary medical courses including B. Sc. (Nursing) and B. Pharm.
There are around 17 auxiliary medical courses offered by both the government and private sector in the state of Tamil Nadu including B. Sc. (Nursing), B. Pharm., BASLP (Bachelor of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology), and BPD.
There are more than 12000 seats available in the government and private colleges for the above-mentioned 17 auxiliary medical courses.
Admission is in progress for these courses based on the marks obtained in the +2 Public Examinations.
In this situation, the online application process for admission for the academic year 2020-21 commenced on 1st |October and concluded on 15th October. More than 20000 candidates had applied. Though 2 months have passed since there had been no announcement so far regarding the next phase of activity. When enquiring about this issue with the officials of the Directorate of Medical Education, they shared:
“Once the counselling for MBBS & BDS gets concluded, the merit/rank list for the courses on auxiliary medical education will be released. Subsequently, the counselling will start. Due to the prevalent coronavirus pandemic situation, it is being reviewed whether the counselling can be conducted online. It will soon be announced whether counselling will be conducted in person or online.”
