Posted on: 30/Jan/2021 11:36:32 AM
The Directorate of Technical Education has released the guidelines for providing READMISSION TO THE STUDENTS WHO DISCONTINUED THE COURSE AFTER JOINING the government or government-aided polytechnics in Tamil Nadu as well as polytechnics by self-financed agencies.

A circular released in this regard by the Director of Technical Education to all principals of polytechnics mentions:
“Readmission can be provided for tor those students who discontinued the 3-years polytechnic due to various reasons including a lower attendance level. Note that READMISSION WILL NOT BE GIVEN FOR THOSE STUDENTS WHERE 6 YEARS HAD ALREADY EAPSED SINCE JOINING. However, relaxation in this rule for up to 7 years may be given to part-time students. When giving readmission, a scanned copy of the mark sheet last given to the concerned student must be attached.

Students who failed to pay the semester fees for the examinations, and the students who did not write the examinations (December 2020) due to various reasons such as illness despite receiving the hall-ticket can join the next semester. Students who want to avail this avenue need to submit their hall-ticket and a medical certificate.

Time may be given until 12th February for the discontinued students who are interested in rejoining. The applications received for rejoining the diploma courses in polytechnics must be forwarded to the Directorate of Technical Education.
