Parents of just passed out of school students protested at the camp office of the examination revaluation centre in Egmore. Students also protested stating that their Std. 12 marks had been reduced without them  applying for revaluation or remitting the fees for the service.

Students and parents are now worried about admissions into the desired colleges.  ‘(My) Biology score had reduced by 1 mark although (I) had not remitted the fee for revaluation. Now, (my) cut-off is 196.75, down by 300 ranks. Earlier, I had a chance of getting a seat in a government medical college. Now, for a seat in a private medical college, I have to face tough competition. My parents are not in a position to pay the fee (for government seats in private colleges) which could be around Rs. 5 lakh’, said a student.
