The chief minister of TN Mr. E. Palaniswamy yesterday through video conferencing inaugurated the 30.5km Chennai ORR from Nemelichery to Minjur. An amount of Rs 1025 crores has been spent for this is known.
It is worthy to mention that the road forms the second phase of the Chennai Outer Ring Road project in which the road from Nemilichery connects Padiayanallur, Tiruvottiyur, Ponneri and Panjeti.
The CM of TN said that the roads play an important role in the socio-economic development in the state. He added that the Chennai ORR would play its part in easing the traffic and in reducing the travel time. The e-challan system of paying the money and obtaining e- receipts under IFHRMS or Integrated Finance and Human Resource Management Systems has been inaugurated by the chief minister. Point is that e-receipts could be received from www.karuvoolam.tn.gov.in.
It is now clear that through this new system the government agencies and local bodies could send an amount to the state government online and could get e-receipts. The funds would reach the state government on time and there would not be any delay as the whole process would be carried out online. This was also pointed out by the chief minister of TN.
Yesterday, the CM also inaugurated an integrated operation theatre complex at Madurai based Government Rajaji Hospital and also the construction of super speciality block at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. He also expressed his feelings towards the deaths of those who died in the recent glacier burst disaster.
