The early mornings in Chennai are now cold with mist or fog and the motorists are finding it difficult in the misty weather. The winter season has finally arrived in Chennai and in TN after the rains have ended in January. Now, the temperatures are expected to reduce in Tamil Nadu. The weather bloggers were of the opinion that the winter would be there for a month of time.
They have mentioned that the interior parts of TN would witness 4 degrees decrease in the temperatures from the normal and coastal parts would witness 1 or 2 degrees decrease in the temperature. The western suburbs belonging to Chennai would have more reduction in ten temperatures. Until the end of January, easterlies were present and it had delayed the onset of the winter season. It must be taken into account that the TN winter season would start only after the rains come to an end and the cessation of easterlies. The weather would be cold in the evenings and in the mornings in the interior districts of TN.
There would be some places that would have 20 degrees difference in the maximum and minimum temperatures. This was according to weather blogger K. Srikanth. The winter conditions would last for a month of time and this was as per the initial model. There would be dry weather in the state of TN and this was as per the RMC or Regional Meteorological Centre. The drop in the temperatures would result in fog or mist in the wee hours.
As per an official belonging to the Regional Meteorological Centre, the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy in the next 48 hours and mist would occur in some places in the mornings. The maximum temperature would be around 31 degrees Celsius and minimum around 20 degrees Celsius.
