It is not easy for the motorists to travel on Sardar Patel Road and on the OMR in Chennai and the travel has become worse from Saturday onwards.
Madhya Kailash junction is a very important place in Chennai. Truth is that part of the road at the Madhya Kailash junction has caved in now creating issues. It is really shocking to note that in the last 5 years, this is the fourth time the road has caved in here. It must be recalled last time in the year 2020, a burst in the Metro water pipeline caused the road here to cave in.
A corroded Metrowater pipeline running under MRTS gave away this time. A truck that carried loads of rice bags from Tondiarpet capsized at this place causing more issues. For more than2 hours, there was a traffic pile up here. The residents belonging to the place want a solution now.
According to an employee belonging to a private firm in Adyar, travelling through this junction is highly risky for many as they do not know when the road would cave in. He highlighted that the traffic pile was unusual now because many schools and It companies were not open. The traffic congestions in this place have been an issue and now the road caving in is adding on to the woes of many. As the caved in part would still be loose, heavy vehicles would not be allowed in this stretch as of now. This was mentioned by a traffic enforcement officer.
