The important activity of vaccination against coronavirus for the senior citizens above 60 years of age commences today (Monday, 1st March) commences in Tamil Nadu!
The vaccination activity throughout the country including Tamil Nadu commenced on 16th January. In the 1st Phase, field-workers engaged in the coronavirus preventive/testing/treatment were administered with the coronavirus vaccination.
In the above status, the central government has granted permission to vaccinate the senior citizens above 60 years of age and the citizens of over 45 years with specific other disease complaints.
Subsequently, coronavirus vaccination for the senior citizens above 60 years of age and the citizens of 45 years of age with other ailments commences today – Monday, 1st March.
The Central Government has given a detailed guideline on administering this vaccination. Based on these guidelines, the Director of the General Health Department of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered the District Health Department officials to undertake various activities to get the vaccination done properly.
The Health Department Officials have informed that for getting this vaccination, the senior citizens can register using the App COVIN with the details of the Aadhar card, Voter ID card, and PAN Card. For those who cannot register, they can directly visit the Vaccination centre.
Users can use the App COVIN and enter the mobile phone number in www.covin.gov.in. Once the OTP (One-Time-Password) is received, enter the same and furnish the details of name, age, gender, and the ID details – using either Voter ID or PAN card or Aadhar card.
For the citizens above 45 years of age with other ailments, they can enter the details of these ailments.
Select the vaccination centre and the date. Note that 4 registrations can be done from a single mobile phone!
The citizens who could not register may directly visit the vaccination centres.
