Announcement by Lorry Owners Association: rental charges up by 30%!

The Lorry Owners’ Association has announced that the rental charges are being revised upwards by 30%.
A resolution regarding the increase in rental charges was passed in a general public meeting yesterday (Wednesday, 3rd March) at Chennai Madhavaram. Subsequently, it has been announced that this increase will be effective from 12.00 midnight (Wednesday) and be implemented from 4th March, Thursday.
Other resolutions passed include:
The central & state governments must reduce the price of diesel and bring the diesel sales under the GST limit.
The system of cancelling vehicles of more than 15 years’ old must be increased to 20 years’ old.
In this scenario, it was further announced that the strike by the lorries scheduled earlier on 15th March, has now been postponed following the announcement of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections.
