Elections for the Legislative Assembly Constituencies in the States of Tamil Nadu & Kerala, and Puducherry are scheduled to be conducted oIN A SINGLE PHASE on 6th April!

The Election Commission is expediting the various arrangements and activities in full swing to conduct a smooth, trouble-free election.

As regards the Voters’ List, the Election Commission released the Draft Voters’ List earlier and it released the final voters’ list on 20th January. Further, the Election Commission has appointed the election officials to monitor the election in the states as above.

Meanwhile, the various political parties are presently engaged and earnestly indulged in the final formation of fronts, seat-sharing, etc.Once this is complete, and the citizens may expect the whirlwind campaigns by the various political parties to commence!

PAN / AADHAR

In order to facilitate the voters to vote, the Indian Election Commission has come up with the list of 11 alternative proofs required in case the voter does not have the Voter ID Card.

Even while not having the proper voter ID, the citizens can vote by presenting the PAN (Permanent Account Number issued by the Department of Income Tax) OR Aadhar card (Issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) OR the Passbook issued by the respective Savings Account Banks.

Apart from this, Pension Account detail, Medical Insurance Detail, 100-days work-card can all be used as proofs to vote!
