An announcement has been released that the cheques of the banks which merged with another bank will continue to be valid even after 10th April!
During the year 2020, Syndicate bank was merged with Canara Bank and the Oriental Bank & United India Bank merged with Punjab National Bank.
Allahabad Bank was merged with Indian Bank and Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank merged with Union Bank of India.
In that situation, it had been announced earlier that the cheques of the merged banks will not be valid from 1st April!
However, now, the banks have come up with an explanation on this issue!
As per this, it is further explained that the savings account holders of the merged banks have been advised to obtain the new cheque books. The old cheques will be valid until these account holders receive the new cheque books!
