The number of people seeking Siddha treatment has also increased in Chennai and in TN with the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases.
It is known that more people have been successfully getting treated at the Covid Care Centres. Now, more people are reaching Siddha hospitals to get treated for the Coronavirus infection.
According to Dr. S. Natarajan, consultant at Siddha hospital, more than 8000 Covid-19 patients were cured at Siddha Covid Care Centres. Asymptomatic or those with mild symptoms are getting treated at these centres now. He added that with the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases more such centres would be opened for treatment of the above said cases. For sake of immunity boosters, even non Covid patients have consulted Siddha practitioners.
Siddha medicines such as kabasura kudineer and other immunity boosters have been in huge demand in recent weeks. Many patients come to the hospitals for post Covid measures too.
As per Dr Shree Devi, senior medical staff at Siddha Central Research Institute, when a patient is Covid 19 positive then he or she must not consider these medications but they must get medical treatment compulsorily. She then pointed out that safety measures must be emphasised and Covid-19 protocols must be followed. People could take Siddha immunity boosters for ensuring better protection.
It was later mentioned by some senior officials belonging to the Arignar Anna Government hospitals for Indian medicine that they were open to organising Covid care centres under the supervision of Siddha healthcare workers also depending on the need.
