Chithirai Special: Divine marriage of Goddess Meenakshi with Lord Sundareswarar at Madurai temple: Devotees watch online!

The climax event of the grand Chithirai festival at the Goddess Meenakshi Temple in Madurai - the Divine Marriage of Goddess Meenakshi with Lord Sundareswarar - was performed grandly today (Saturday, 24th April)!

The event was telecast alive by the Dinamalar TV.  The readers/devotees had the pleasure of watching the grand divine marriage online!

The Grand Chithirai festival commenced with the Divine Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 15th April! Due to fast and wide-spreading re=aging resurgent coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Chithirai Festival is being performed WITHOUT THE DEVOTEES’ PARTICIPATION! However, the devotees ARE permitted for certain fixed hours to have Darshan.

The Divine Marriage of Goddess Meenakshi with Lord Sundareswarar was performed from 8.45 AM to 8.50 AM this morning (Saturday, 24th April).  Devotees WERE NOT allowed, However, arrangements had been made for the devotees to watch the divine grand occasion ‘online’!

Devotees can have Darshan of the fully-decorated divine couple Lord Sundareswar and His Consort Goddess Meenakshi the old  marriage hall (Old Thirukkalyana Mandapam) from 9.30 AM till 2,30 PM today (Saturday, 24th April).

The devotees will be permitted as usual to have Darshan between 3.30 PM to 5.30 PM and 7.30 PM to 9.00 PM.

Devotees will be allowed to have Darshan tomorrow (Chattatheer) - Sunday, 25th April) from 7.00 AM till 12.30 PM and from 4.00 PM to 5.30 PM, 7.30 PM to 9.00 PM, and on Monday, 26th April from 7.00 AM to 10.30 AM, from 4.00 PM to 5.30 PM, and 7.30 PM to 9.00 PM!
