Information is gathered that the State Government of Tamil Nady may decide on imposing further restrictions after the recently announced!
On a single day yesterday (Friday, 23rd April) a record 13776 citizens have been confirmed infected with the resurgent coronavirus! The number of patients on treatment at present in the State of Tamil Nadu has increased to 95048! As a preventive measure to check/prevent the fast-spreading raging resurgent coronavirus, lockdown imposition has already been announced effective from 20th April with a night curfew from 10.00 PM to 4.00 AM daily.
Further, 100% lockdown has been announced on Sundays. In this scenario, after the recent review/consultation held by the Prime Minister with the Chief Ministers of the States, (participated by the Tamil Nadu State Government Chief Secretary Rajiv Ranjan), there was an emergency meeting conducted under the leadership of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palaniswamy with the Chief Secretary, Government Advisor, Health Secretary, and other senior officials.
Information is gathered that after this meeting, the State Government of Tamil Nadu might have decided to increase the present lockdown restrictions! The timings of the present night-curfew may be increased and also to reduce the timings of the temple worship, the shops open time, etc. At the same time, care would be taken to ensure that these additional restrictions WILL NOT UNDULY AFFECT THE ECONOMY! It is expected that an announcement will be made this evening (Saturday, 24th April).
It is learnt that an announcement will be made on shifting the present fruit and vegetable fairs to open spaces. The shops may be closed at 8.00 PM and also visits temples and other religious places will be restricted. It is also expected that large commercial complexes and theatres may be ordered to close! Registration and E-pass may be made mandatory for the visitors to the State of Tamil Nadu from other states!
