It all now depends on the public belonging to Chennai and in TN now!!
The control in the spread of Coronavirus infection pandemic in Chennai and in 27 districts belonging to Tamil Nadu has now led to lockdown relaxations from Monday, 14th June onwards in Chennai and in TN.
The chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin was of the view that if the people do not follow Covid-19 norms then the lockdown relaxations would be withdrawn. He added that the people must cooperate and due to that TN could move ahead and allow public transport plus reopening of schools/colleges etc. Discussions took place between the CM and the district collectors regarding Covid-19 measures that had been undertaken in the state. There were also some discussions about resuming public transport.
The reduction in the number of Covid-19 cases in Chennai and TN over the last few weeks played a crucial role in the present relaxations. The chief minister later thanked the people of TN for following the norms strictly in the lockdown. He appreciated the public who have demanded extending the lockdown for another week and said that the public have confidence in the measures taken by the current government.
It must not be forgotten that daily fresh Coronavirus cases touched 36000 and it was expected to reach up to 50000 also. The total lockdown was imposed in TN to prevent further spread of the deadly infection. Now, the daily number of fresh Covid-19 cases has been reduced and have been brought below 15000.
