The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the extension of the prevailing lockdown imposition by another week to continue until 28th June as a preventive measure against the raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic.
The districts of Tamil Nadu have been grouped in 3 categories and separate relaxations are announced for each category!
Here are the relaxations announced for the 2nd category for 23 districts:
The 23 districts in the 2nd category are – Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Kanyakumari, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Perambalur, Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Ranippettai, Sivagangai, Theni, Thenkasi, Thirunelveli, Thirupathur, Thiruvannamalai, Thoothukkudi, Trichy, Villupuram, Vellore, and Virudhunagar.
· Permission has been granted to open individual shops selling groceries, vegetables, fish, and meat from 6.00 AM to 7.00 PM.
· Pavement shops selling vegetables, flowers and fruits are allowed to function from 6.00 AM to 7.00 PM.
· Eateries/restaurants/hotels are permitted to sell ONLY PARCELS from 6.00 AM to 9.00 PM.
· Sweet/Savories shops, electronic commercial trading shops are allowed to function from 6.00 AM to 9.00 PM.
· All Essential Government Departments are allowed to function with 100% staff. Other non-essential government offices are to function with 50% staff.
· All private companies can function with 33% staff.
· Shops selling electrical items and 2-wheeler/cycle service shops are allowed to function from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM
· Hardware shops, vehicle spare parts shops, shops selling vehicles are allowed to function from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
· Stationery shops, footwear shops, shops selling spectacles for eyes, service shops are allowed to function from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
· Shops selling household consumer items, service centres for same, and pottery and handicraft shops are allowed to function from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
· Electricians, plumbers, etc., are allowed to go and work in n the houses required from 6.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
· Shops selling cell phones and construction materials are allowed to function from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
· Passengers – with E-Registration – will be permitted to travel in taxis and autos.
· In taxis, 3 passengers are allowed apart from the driver. In autos, 2 passengers are allowed apart from the driver.
These relaxations are effective from tomorrow – Monday, 21st June!
