Addressing the grievances of consumers is very important and for that the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin launched a 24#7 customer care cell called Minagam at Tangedco headquarters.
By calling 24# 7 helpline number - 9498794987, the public would be able to register their grievances.
For the purpose of attending the complaints from the customers, this customer care cell would have as many as 195 persons working in three shifts. The 65 staff in each shift would be registering the electricity related complaints in the database. By WhatsApp, these complaints would be sent to superintending engineers and other engineers. All complaints would be gathered by a separate division of three staff and action would be taken. These staff have been appointed in each of the 3 offices of 44 superintending engineers in TN. Once when the grievance gets addressed, then an SMS would be sent to the consumer.
In addition to the Minnagam, the CM also launched a social media cell for Tangedco that would monitor the grievances related to electricity. Various social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram would be used. It is well known that Tangedco is Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation and it began its operations from 2010 onwards.
