New DGP for Tamil Nadu: Sylendra Babu!

The State Government of Tamil Nadu appointed today (Tuesday, 29th June), the 1987 Batch IPS Officer C. Sylendra Babu AS THE HEAD OF THE POLICE FORCE IN THE STATE!
Sylendra Babu succeeds J. K. Tripathy, who retires on Wednesday (30th June).
The Chief Secretary of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, V, Iraiyanbu released the above order appointing Sylendra Babu as the Director-General of Police (DGP).
Sylendra Babu, who is a native of Kanyakumari, has served in many key positions. Being a fitness freak, Sylendra Babu has excelled in handling Law & Order when he worked as the Commissioner of Police in Coimbatore.
Sylendra Babu has an M. Sc. in Agriculture, MBA, Ph. D., and PCD (Cybercrime Investigation) and speaks Tamil, English, Malayalam, Hindi, and French. He has written books and is tech-savvy as well! He has inspired many youngsters to join the uniformed services! Quite remarkably, his services were immense during the Chennai Metro City floods in 2015and rescued many stranded people from their houses!
