The Coronavirus infection has come down in the state of TN now and due to that from 5th of July all districts belonging to TN would have uniform relaxations.
On Friday, 2nd July 2021, the TN government issued orders to extend the lockdown with more relaxations. It must be noted that the lockdown has been extended with more relaxations in TN till 12th July. It is important to note that the TN government had already removed the existing division of districts into 3 categories and has provided relaxations uniformly in TN. This would not be applicable for the containment zones.
Under the Disaster Management Act, there has been a lockdown in TN since 25th March 2021 is well known to us. On 29th June 2021, the Ministry of Home Affairs had mentioned that the Coronavirus restrictions must be imposed till 31st of July 2021 to contain the infection spread. The existing lockdown restrictions would be only till 6am on 5th July 202.
Inspite of reduction in the Covid-19 infection pandemic there is a need now to contain the further spread of Coronavirus infection in TN. As a result, all districts belonging to TN would have lockdown extension from 5th July to 12th July.
It is worthy to note that the shops in TN would be open till 8pm in the evening. From 6am to 8pm, dine-in facilities in the tea shops, restaurants functioning alone, malls and those attached to lodges would be allowed to function with just 50percent occupancy. From 10am till 8pm, all Tasmac shops except bars would be allowed to function in TN.
With just 50 percent occupancy, all textile shops, jewellery shops and IT companies would be allowed to function without air-conditioners. Point is that clubs, gyms and yoga centres would be allowed to function with 50percent occupancy now. Both inter as well as intra state buses would be allowed to function with 50percent occupancy without air-conditioners. Omnibuses would not be allowed to operate. All places of worship like Temples, Churches and Mosques would be allowed to reopen. Heritage centres as well as museums would be allowed to function between 10am to 5pm.
For the sake of controlling the spread of the Coronavirus infection, only 50 persons would be allowed to attend marriages and just 20 persons would be allowed to attend the funerals. It is learnt that theatres, international travel, swimming pools, social and political meetings, schools, colleges, zoological parks would not be allowed to function.
