Due to the impact of the raging first and resurgent coronavirus pandemic, the prevailing situation prevents conducting Public Examinations for all school students throughout the country! As such, the Central Government decided to cancel the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) Public Examinations for 12th Standard!
Subsequently, the Public Examinations for the 12th Standard was cancelled in the states including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.
A 12-member committee was formed to devise the system for assessing/declaring the CBSE 12th Standard results.
In this situation, CBSE has now announced that a special assessment system will be implemented for the current academic year 2021-22. As per this, the academic year will be divided into 2 halves for the 10th & 12th Standards.
This new decision has been taken mainly In case there is a serious constraint not permitting the conducting of the Public Examinations,
The syllabus is divided into 2 halves and will be taught in 2 terms – named term-1 and term-2 and examinations will be conducted at the end of each semester (half-year). Further, classes are to be conducted as per the CBSE and NCERT syllabus.
Internal assessment marks will be given at the end of each semester. CBSE has further announced that ONLINE classes will be continued till the corona crisis is overcome.
