The Aadi month festivals in Amman temples are celebrated in a grand manner. Here are the important days in Aadi:

Aadi Thapas - Aadi Pournami (Full Moon Day)

It is a traditional belief from our ancestors’ days that worshipping Goddess Amman on the Full Moon Day (Pournami or Poornima) in the Tamil calendar month of Aadi will be extremely beneficial for the devotees!

The newly-wed couple present a gift pack of betel leaves, Turmeric, vermillion, and sacred thread for the married women (thali in Tamil) and bangles to married women. They also perform traditional poojas on the banks of water-bodies such as rivers and ponds and perform special poojas and prayers seeking a long life for their husbands!
