The amount of success ‘Pichaikkaran’ brought Vijay Antony is enormous. His choice of stories and production values as a producer were noticed because of that project.
Released in 2016, ‘Pichaikkaran’ received an excellent response both in Tamil and Telugu. Director Sasi who directed the original will not be directing the sequel. Initially, it was discussed that Priyanka of ‘Baaram’ fame will direct it but apparently, she stepped out of the project. A couple of other names cropped up but the news is finally Vijay Antony himself will direct the sequel.
Becoming a multi-faceted personality in filmdom, Vijay Antony who initially started as a music director, wore the hats of an actor, a producer, an editor, and now a director. He is also credited as a lyricist and not to forget a singer.
He is currently busy with ‘Thamezharasan’ directed by Babu Yogeswaran go made ‘Daas’ before, a multi-starrer titled Agni Siragugal’ along with Arun Vijay and Prakash Raj to name a few, and an action thriller titled ‘Khaki’ directed by Senthilkumar.
With a busy schedule and taking up bigger responsibilities of direction, Vijay Antony is going in the right direction, showing his contemporaries how versatile he can be.
