Rice to be supplied to mosques during Ramzan

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa has announced that the government will supply 4000 tonnes of rice to mosques to break the fast during Ramzan.
‘An order to this effect was passed during (my) previous regime and had been quite popular among Muslims in this part of the state. I have received representations from the Muslims to supply rice as in the past. Thus, I have ordered the supply of rice to mosques to prepare meals without any hassles. The scheme would benefit nearly 3,000 mosques. The district collectors have been advised to supply builk quantity, after checking the requirements of the mosques’, said Ms. Jayalalithaa.
