Pournami Girivalam would NOT be allowed in the famous Tiruvannamalai temple!!

Pournami day is considered very auspicious for the devotees and lakhs of devotees undertake girivalam on this particular day at the highly popular Tiruvannamalai temple is a known fact.

To prevent Coronavirus from spreading, lock down has been there in TN since 2020 and due to this the devotees would not be allowed to undertake girivalam. For devotees to undertake pournami girivalam in the month of Aavani, the suitable time starts from today at 7:19pm till tomorrow morning 6:17am.

The district collector of Tiruvannamalai, Mr. P. Murugesh has made it clear that girivalam would not be allowed even in this month also for the devotees. It is now revealed that those devotees who wanted to undertake girivalam in this famous temple need not come to the temple. Annamalai temple in Tiruvannamalai is a Hindu temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It attracts many foreigners as this temple is a major tourist destination.
