The Anna University has revised its curriculum to include two new components that have not existed previously. Called R2013, this curriculum aims at giving a wider exposure to students.
The University has introduced mobile applications development and cloud computing. The curriculum also has modules that deal with multi-core architecture, grid and cloud computing, nano computing and game programming. These additions will give the student a better understanding and knowledge into the practical components of engineering.
Another introduction is modules in technical English. The curriculum will educate the students on how to make small talk like inquiring about the weather, using SMS and emoticons in emails effectively, blogging and on preparing resumes.
Says a former student, ‘This will be very useful to current students, as it will help them to be less stiff and formal during interactions with even superiors. Many of us learnt it the hard way after we passed out when we were rebuffed by seniors and cooler people in the workplace.’
