Tamil Nadu State Election Commission appeals for extension of time for conducting the State Local Elections!

Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has filed a petition in the Supreme Court appealing for further extension of time for conducting the local elections in the state.
As per the present order, the local elections are due to be conducted before 15th September. In this situation, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has appealed for an extension of time.
It may be noted that Tamil Nadu Election Commission has already appealed TWICE for an extension of time and this is the THIRD APPEAL!
It had been announced that the local elections were to be conducted for the recently newly formed 9 districts and their mother districts will be conducted shortly. The Supreme Court had ordered this.
Subsequently, the voters’ lists for the newly formed 9 districts were released.
