Giving top most priority to the prevalent resurgent raging coronavirus crisis, AN OFFICIAL BAN HAS BEEN IMPOSED BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU ON SETTING UP LORD VINAYAKA IDOLS IN PUBLIC PLACES AND PERFORMING PRAYERS/POOJAS AND TAKING THE IDOL ON PROCESSION TO IMMERSE IN THE SEA!
The Central Government has also duly emphasised the State Government gathering of large public crowds MUST BE AVOIDED ALTOGETHER!
However, permission has been granted for the individual citizen to perform pooja/prayer at their respective residences and and also to immerse the idol after the festival.
Chennai Metro City Police Commissioner Sankar Jiwal has announced that THERE IS NO PERMISSION TO IMMERSE THE LORD VINAYAKA IDOLS IN WATER-BODIES!
In case individual citizen installs Lord Vinayaka Idol in temples, action will be taken by the State Government Department of Tamil Nadu to immerse the same.
The city residents venturing out tomorrow (Friday, 10th September, Vinayaka Chathurthi Festival) for shopping MUST WEAR FACE MASKS AND FOLLOW GUIDELINES STRICTLY!
Police will be monitoring the activities throughout the Chennai Metro City!
AS SUCH, STRINGENT ACTION WILL BE TAKEN BY THE CHENNAI METRO POLICE IMMEDIATELY ON ANY VIOLATIONS!
