Southern Railways announce details of special trains for the Deepavali festival!

India’s most eagerly and grandly celebrated festival of Deepavali for all age groups is all set to be celebrated in Tamil Nadu on 4th November.

To facilitate the citizens who travel to their native places along with their families, special transport is arranged – both trains and buses.

In this regard, Southern Railways have announced special trains to be operated.

3 Special trains will be operated from Chennai Egmore to Nagercoil, from Thirunelveli to Tambaram, and from Tambaram to Thirunelveli!

In a notification released by the Southern Railways in this regard, it is mentioned:

  • The Special Train 06037, starting from Chennai Egmore on 3rd November at 10.05 PM will reach Nagercoil at 11.00 Am the next day morning.
  • On the return leg, the special train 06038 starting from Nagercoil the next day morning on 5th November at 3.10 PM will reach Chennai Egmore the next day (6th November) morning at 5.20 AM.
  • Both the above trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sathur, Kovilpatti, and Thirunelveli.
  • The special train Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore will stop at Mambalam Station, Chennai and the Chennai-Nagercoil Special Train will stop at Ariyalur.
  • The train starting from Thirunelveli on 7th November (06040) at 7.00 PM will operate via Thenkasi, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, and Madurai will reach Tambaram the next day morning at 7.55 AM.
  • This train will stop at Ambasamudram, Keezhkkadiayam, Pavurchathiram, Thenkasi, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Trichy, Ariyalur,  Villupuram, and Chengalpattu and reach Tambaram.
  • The special train 06049 starting from Tambaram on 8th November at 4.00 PM will reach Thirunelveli at 3.00 AM the next day morning.
  • This train will stop at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Ariyalur, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sathur, and Kovilpatti stations.

Note: 
The reservation (booking) for the above trains commences today (Tuesday, 2nd November) at 8.00 AM.
