Why would more aspirants get MBBS seats in the govt medical colleges in TN now?

The cut-offs have reduced and more seats have been allotted for the students now. These could now result in many aspirants getting into the government based medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. On Monday, NEET results were announced and it caught the attention of many is known.

It is learnt that out of total MBBS seats in Tamil Nadu 15% of seats would be reserved under All India quota and the remaining 85%, including 7.5% to students from the government schools, would be reserved for the students from the state.

As more students have qualified in the NEET exams this time, more students would be getting into the medical colleges now. This was mentioned by Mr. Rajesh Rajasekaran, director of pioneer academy. This is a famous coaching institute for NEET in Chennai city.

He threw light on how with more number of MBBS seats available this year those with low marks in the NEET could also get admissions in the government or aided medical colleges. It is worthy to mention that the NEET exam was tougher and more students appeared for the exam. Two students from Namakkal came out on top in the NEET exam this time.

Truth is that just 2 students have scored 710 out of total 720 marks from TN and there are no students in the top 20 ranks in Tamil Nadu.

As per a medical aspirant from Chennai, as the NEET exam was postponed due to Coronavirus pandemic students got more time to prepare for the exam. He then shed light on the number of mock tests he had written when compared to the last year and how those tests gave him lots of self confidence. It must be taken into note that he got 533 marks in the NEET exam. The overall performance in NEET exams have improved now and this was pointed out by some officials of the state selection committee. Point to be noted is that more students scored more than 700 marks this year from the state of Tamil Nadu. Along with the release of state rank list and cut-offs the final numbers would be known.
