For nearly 392 families which were affected by the metro rail project, mosquito nets were provided. The riverside of Saidapet area was acquired for the metro rail project due to which the slums living in the area had to vacate. Right now, these vacated slums are relocated to the Tamil Nadu slum clearance board tenants that are located at various parts of the city.

205 mosquito nets were distributed to families in Rani nagar, 144 in kannagi nagar, 14 in chemmencheri and 29 in air land. These expenses come under the income restoration program of Chennai metro rail.
