The recent very heavy rains have disrupted the power supply in many places belonging to Tamil Nadu now. The news that has come out is that the TN government has given strict instructions to the private schools regarding not to conduct online classes for the students.

It is known that the schools have been closed for the last one week due to heavy rains and online classes have been resumed by many private schools for the students.

It was mentioned by a senior officer belonging to the school education department that many complaints were received from the parents regarding private schools forcing students to attend online classes.

It is learnt that the school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has asked the private schools in the rain battered places not to conduct online classes for the students. Truth is that the students in these places would find it tough to attend the online classes due to power cut issues.

As normalcy was restored in many flood ravaged places across TN, the schools would be reopened as soon as possible for the students. It was revealed by an official that most students were unable to charge their mobile phones and other electronic gadgets due to power supply issues and due to this all the private schools have been asked to suspend the online classes for the time being and resume the classes once everything becomes normal.

It must be noted that soon physical classes would start in Tamil Nadu and schools were asked not to force the students to attend online classes. The lost classes for the students due to heavy rains would be compensated by means of extra classes.

Information is that the school authorities want all the students (belonging to both government and government aided schools) to have equal education.
