The previous mega vaccination camps have been a huge success in Chennai and Tamil Nadu and many people have got their first as well as second vaccination doses in these camps. There are still many people still who haven’t got even their first dose of vaccination and some have stopped with just the first dose of vaccination.

Now, to make more people get vaccinated against Covid-19 infection, the minister for health Mr. M. Subramaniam has made a sensational announcement regarding mega vaccination camps. Hereafter, the mega vaccination camps would be held twice every week on Thursdays and Sundays.

The health minister spoke about how 14 to 30 lakhs of people are being vaccinated through these mega vaccination camps and how more people would get vaccinated if the vaccination camp was held twice per week. It is important to note that WHO till now hasn’t issued any instructions regarding booster doses. Superb piece of information is that those who have got 2 vaccination doses would be 97.5percent safe. No Norovirus outbreak has been witnessed now in Tamil Nadu.

All the deputy directors of health services have been given strict instructions by the health department regarding training the health workers involved in vaccination not to spread rumours about intake of alcohol or non-vegetarian food after vaccination.

The Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine has sent an order and according to the order it was clear that  the GOI has communicated precautions and contradictions for the vaccinations and these have been sent to all DDHS to train all the employees involved in the vaccination process.

The order further stated that rumours were being spread among beneficiaries in many TN districts on not consuming alcohol and non vegetarian food before or after vaccination. Truth is that no contradiction was mentioned by the government of India and there was no medical evidence on that.
