For the upcoming local body elections, Chennai to have 5800 polling booths!!

On Wednesday, 17th November 2021, the Greater Chennai Corporation or GCC has finalised the list and it is now said that Chennai city would have nearly 5800 polling booths for the forthcoming local body elections.
It was later stated by a release from the Chennai Corporation that as many as 5794 polling booths would be created for the local body elections and there would be as many as 255 polling booths for women voters exclusively and another 255 booths for men.
From Thursday, the list of polling booths would be available at the 15 Greater Chennai Corporation zonal offices and at 200 division offices. It must be taken into account that GCC had meetings with members of parliament or MP, members of legislative assembly or MLA, members of political parties etc. The Greater Chennai Corporation has asked the political parties to give their suggestions and objections. It is now said that based on the suggestions from the parties list has been released after some changes.
It is well known that the Greater Chennai Corporation had released a draft electoral roll recently and voters were asked to verify and apply for inclusion of their names if the names were missing from the list.
