The news that has emerged out now is that the Tangedco workers are demanding manpower and money for machinery to attend cable faults from MSME’s in the Ambattur Industrial Estate Works in Chennai.
It is known to us that the TN government has been taking many steps to attract investments in the industrial sectors. At this point of time, this demand by Tangedco workers has caught the attention of many now.
Since Wednesday, atleast 6 small industries located on the Vellalar Street in Ambattur Industrial Estate have been facing power supply outages. It was later pointed out by Mr. Nakkeeran of Pareto Technologies that the power outage complaint was not given importance on Wednesday and on Thursday only 2 Tangedco workers visited the unit to rectify the issue. He added that the workers did not have laborers to dig out the underground cable for locating and attending the fault.
He later spoke about how the workers from Tangedco were demanding money for attending the power outage complaint. It must be taken into account that the assistant engineer belonging to the Tangedco section office at the Ambattur Industrial Estate asked Mr. Nakkeeran to bear the expense for the earthmover for digging. Truth is that an earthmover was suggested as there were not enough workers to dig out the cable.
