Yesterday morning in the district of Namakkal was not as normal as the other days! Guess why?
There was panic around as the residents there experienced mild tremors. It must be taken into account that at 11am on Tuesday people in many villages in this district claimed to have heard loud explosions and mild tremors. To be safe, the people rushed out of their houses to the open areas. Truth is that the people did not know the reason behind the loud explosion.
Many residents belonging to places like Mohanur, Senthamangalam, Paramathivelur, Rasipuram etc claimed that they felt tremors. Shaking of vessels inside houses and window panes were witnessed.
Just in the morning only, a powerful earthquake was witnessed in the country of Indonesia is known. The loud explosion made many people fear. It was later clarified by the collector of Namakkal district that it was not an earthquake. The meteorological department also made it clear that the sound was not due to an earthquake as no earthquakes have been recorded.
Supersonic aircraft might have made that loud noise and this was according to some officers belonging to the District Disaster Management. He mentioned that such loud noises would have been created due to the flying of supersonic aircrafts at high speeds.
