From 3rd of January onwards, vaccination of school children would begin in Tamil Nadu. The surprising piece of information is that the vaccination would be carried out in the school campuses and also in special camps etc. This was mentioned by some senior officers belonging to the health department. It is learnt that the registration process for vaccination for these students would be similar to that of adults and preparations have been going on now. For the vaccination, a total of 33.20 lakhs children would be eligible.
For vaccinating the children between the age 15 and 18, preparatory work has been initiated and this was as per the Tamil Nadu government. It is known that the PM of India Mr. Narendra Modi had announced vaccination for those in the age group 15 to 18 from 3rd January 2022.
In the 16th mega vaccination drive that took place on Sunday, 16th December, 17.31lak doses of vaccines were administered to the people. This included 5.17lakhs of first doses. In the 15 mega Covid-19 vaccination drives that took place in Tamil Nadu till now 2.82 crore doses have been administered.
Till now in the state of Tamil Nadu 8114 crore doses have been administered and this was according to the health minister Mr. M. Subramaniam. He threw light on how till now 84.87percent of the total population has been administered with the first dose and 55.85percent with both doses. He later added that In the vaccination of pregnant mothers the state of Tamil Nadu stands first now.
