Now, volunteers appointed by GCC would be delivering essential items to these residents of Chennai!!

The spread of Coronavirus infection hasn’t stopped and now many cases are being reported in Chennai. Many people are now in home isolation or home quarantine in Chennai. They have been finding it difficult to get the essential items for their daily lives.

In this scenario, the GCC has appointed atleast 1000 volunteers now for the sake of delivering essential items to those persons who are in isolation in their houses. The volunteers would be delivering food, medicine etc to those in home based isolation now in Chennai. These persons would also be monitored constantly for compliance with the rules. This was brought out by Mr. M. Subramanian, health minister.

As many as 15 telephone counseling centers have been set up in each zone and there would be more beds at the Covid care centers in Chennai. Last year many testing centers operated to test the people who go to these centers with symptoms. It is now said that 21 testing centers would be set up near the places from where they were operated in 2021.Information gathered is that the COVID Monitoring Center at Ripon Buildings in Chennai would also be strengthened. In the areas where the public are more likely to gather fines would be intensified by the zonal authorities.

The health minister then explained about how 15 groups of healthcare workers have been assigned for each zone and how there would be 2 vehicles used to shift the patients to the hospitals. In those areas where the Covid-19 infection rate is high, additionally 20 ambulances would be deployed.
