Till 20th of February, online examinations would be held and arts and sciences colleges are planning to complete online exams before asking the students to come to the campuses in TN. From 1st of February, engineering colleges would resume direct physical classes for the first year students.
According to the principal of SRM Valliammai Engineering College, Mr. Chidambarajan it was clear that the first year syllabus must be completed in the first 2 weeks of time and after that the practical exams would begin. It must be taken into note that some colleges want to give time for the outstation students to book tickets.
Mr. R.M. Kishore, vice chairman of RMK Engineering College spoke about how the physical classes for the students would begin from the first week of February and how the regular classes for second and third year students would start after online examinations.
Mr. Santhosh Babu, principal of Chennai based D.G. Vaishnav College expressed his thoughts. He spoke about how arts and sciences colleges have finished syllabus for the first year students. He added that online exams for second and third year students would take place from 1st of February. From 11th of February, these students would attend physical classes. It must be noted that the academicians have urged the government to revert to offline exams.
Mr. E. Balaguruswamy, ex vice-chancellor of Anna University stated that conducting online exams is wrong when physical classes are allowed in the colleges. He wanted the government to go back to offline examinations.
