Palar Bridge is once again making news now!!
Alignment and repair works have been going on the Palar Bridge in Mamandur near Chennai now is well known. As a result, the Chengalpet district administration as well as the police department has instructed the motorists to use an alternate route.
It is well known that the Palar Bridge that was built more than 50 years ago in Chengalpet district has worn out and repair and alignment works have been going on here since the 7th of February. This would be going for 20 days and due to that the vehicles were allowed to use another bridge. It is now revealed that due to the alignment works in the Palar Bridge the heavy vehicles have been allowed to move from Pookathurai Kootu Salai through Pazhaya Seevaram to Chengalpet.
It must be taken into account that two wheelers, cars etc have been passing through meyyur, bilapur through Chengalpet-Kancheepuram road to reach Chennai. In the new Bridge, only those vehicles that are travelling towards southern districts in TN are allowed.
On Monday, 14th February 2022, there would be heavy traffic congestion at the Palar Bridge as many persons who have left Chennai for the weekends would be coming again to Chennai. The police department has instructed motorists to use an alternate route. Last week, there was heavy traffic congestion on the Palar Bridge and due to this many vehicles couldn`t move. This created lots of issues for many. Now, as a precautionary measure the motorists have been instructed to take an alternate route.
