Guidelines given by UGC now for direct classes at the Higher Educational Institutions in TN

For conducting the direct physical classes at various higher educational institutions or HEIs in Tamil Nadu the UGC or University Grants Commission has announced fresh or new guidelines. It is known that at present the number of Coronavirus cases have come down.

A circular was sent by Mr. Rajinsh Jain, UGC secretary to all the vice-chancellors of various universities in the circular it was mentioned that as per the present Covid-19 situation the UGC has been constantly monitoring the academic activities at various HEIs affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. From time to time, various guidelines have been issued by UGC in respect of the academic calendar. On the UGC website, the examinations of the advisories with respect to Covid-19 pandemic & subsequent lockdowns were available.

Mr. Rajinish Jain highlighted that according to the request from the ministry of health and family welfare further instructions were issued to the management of all the universities and affiliated colleges to ensure strict enforcement of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour at all times at all the places in the institutions or in the HEIs etc.

The circular clearly mentioned that taking into consideration the Coronavirus situation in the respective region the Higher Educational Institutions might open their campuses, conduct classes and exams in online or directly or blended mode following appropriate behaviour and protocols issued by the state government as well as by the central government from time to time. It is known that the schools have reopened again for the students in the state of Tamil Nadu from the 1st of February onwards.
