Surprising news about the fresh COVID cases in 33 districts in TN!!

The Coronavirus cases in Tamil Nadu have been decreasing gradually and it is now revealed that 33 out of 38 districts in Tamil Nadu have reported a drop in the number of fresh or daily cases. In TN, at present there are 31368 active Covid-19 cases and yesterday as many as 1325 new cases were reported. It is superb to mention that all districts reported less than 500 fresh Coronavirus cases.

There were 3030 fresh cases in Chennai and was followed by Coimbatore with 231 cases. It is learnt that 22 districts belonging to TN reported cases in 2 digits only. Erode district with 82 fresh cases was followed by Tirupur with 69 cases. Five districts reported fresh cases in single digits only.

According to a senior officer, RTPCR has been asked to be carried out by the districts on all those persons who are symptomatic. Close as well as extended contacts have been asked to undergo tests. In crowded places, random testing would be carried out on the people.

In January when Coronavirus was at its peak every day more than 0ne lakh tests were done and now the infection has reduced and everyday 80000 tests are being done.

The senior officer then spoke about how despite the reduction in the number of fresh cases the public must not let the guard down. They must follow the Covid-19 protocols without fail for their safety. It is known that there are many relaxations provided for the public and they must follow standard operating procedures in schools, colleges, offices and at various other places. The admission in the hospitals has come down now as the number of fresh cases has dropped.

The health officials mentioned that 2402 patients were in ICU and most of these persons in ICU have not got vaccinated, elders and those with co-morbid conditions etc. There were 14 deaths and this took the cumulative deaths due to Covid-19 infection to 37946.

On Tuesday, as many as 86047 persons received vaccination. Information is that the cumulative dose tally total now is 9.5crores and cumulative number of persons who had booster doses is 5.2 lakhs.
