Why Porur locality in Chennai has become a difficult place for the commuters & residents?

Thundalam Alpha College Road in Porur is a very busy area is well known. Here, the metro water project has not been completed for a year and this is creating many issues for the people. It must be taken into account that the drainage and drinking water works belonging to CMWSSB have made the road worse. Point is this road has been worn out already.

Just a year ago, the road was dug up and at that it was said that the project would be completed soon. After a week, the work stopped and raw materials got piled up. As a result, there is no space for the commuters here. It was revealed by a local resident that he had lost his balance and fell down while travelling on this road in Porur.

He added that the students were also facing lots of issues due to the poor condition of this important road. Alpha College student spoke about how he had to face issues while using this road. Many complaints were given to the concerned authorities regarding the poor road condition.

The road is 290m in length and out of that the pipes have been laid for 240m. This was according to an officer belonging to Chennai metro water department. Information is that the authorities belonging to the metro water have given permission to the corporation to lay the road for the completed stretch. It was pointed out by an officer of zonal Corporation office in Valasaravakkam that there was a delay in getting NOC from the metro water department.
