Board examinations for the students in TN in the peak heat - A cause for concern!!

For the state board examinations that will commence from 5th May 2022, more than 26lakhs of students belonging to the classes 10 to 12 would be appearing. It is a known fact that for the last 2 years board examinations did not take place for the students. The students were given all-passes by the government.

On Wednesday, 2ND March, the school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi announced that class 12 board exams would be conducted from 5th May onwards till 28th May. From 6th May till 30th May, class 10 board exams would be conducted and from 9TH May till 31st May class 11 board exams would be conducted. On 13th of June 2022, the next academic year 2022-23 would begin for all students except for those in class11. 

For the class11 students, the academic year would start from 24th of June. From 25th April to 2nd May, practical examinations would be held for the students belonging to classes 10, 11 and 12. From 5th May to13th May, examinations for the students of classes 6 to 9 would take place. Two sets of question papers would be printed by the school education department and the one for the examination would be intimated only on the examination day.

Mr. G.J Manohar, principal of MCC Higher secondary School in Chetpet spoke about how the concern for many would be the heat during the month of May. The advantage of conducting board exams in the month of May was more time would be available for the teachers and schools to prepare for the board exams.
