The State Highways Department is finally taking corrective steps in Basin Bridge. After many complaints, from residents in and around the area, it looks like there will be some relief at long last.
‘There were complaints of water stagnation at the subway and the bitumen layer had worn out due to pressure resulting in bumps and potholes… We have removed a few inches of the top layer on this portion of road and found a concrete layer. We had sought permission from the Traffic police to close the subway for traffic for 15 days but they said it cannot be done. So, we have sought three days to repair the stretch’, said a source.
