IT raid at Saravana Bhavan chain of hotels

Saravana Bhavan, chain of hotels belongs to Rajagopal. Income Tax officials conducted raids in all the 40 branches and properties across the country. Apart from this, the owner`s house in KK Nagar and his farmhouse at Tuticorin are under the scanner. The hotel has branches in Delhi, Vijayawada, Bangalore and other places and reports have it that raids are being carried out all the branches of Saravana Bhavan.
Reports said the raids were initiated following complaints about the owners of the two hotel chains amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
