Chromepet and Pallavaram buildings sealed now by CMDA - Whats the latest?

For violating the building approval plans, CMDA or Chennai Metropolitan Development authority has sealed 2 buildings in the suburbs of Chennai yesterday. It must be taken into account that CMDA has sealed Vasantham Kalyana Mandapam in Chromepet and a block in Olympia Grand Apartments in Pallavaram. While commencing the construction, the owner of the marriage hall in Chromepet has availed the planning permission to use the building as cold storage facility. The fact is that the owner had converted the building as a marriage hall illegally.
It was mentioned by an officer belonging to CMDA that Olympia Grand Apartment owner availed building permission to use the block as serviced apartment but he converted it into a lodge. Hence, the block was sealed.
Point to be noted is that some residents have given complaints about the conversion of the block and based on the complaints lock and seal action was taken by CMDA authorities. The block was made into a separate block by the builder who had erected gates. It is true that the owners have been given prior notices before the lock and seal action was carried out. Information is that in 2020, no building was sealed by CMDA and in 2021 just 4 buildings were sealed.
