Between the age 12 and 15, it is quite common for a girl to get her first menstrual cycle or periods. This is one of the most important stages in the life of a woman or girl.
Every month, during periods, there would be regular discharge of blood and mucus from the linings of the uterus. Point is that a period or menstrual cycle in a woman is normally associated with bleeding, abdominal cramps, irritation, bloating etc and hence women would find it difficult during her periods. Managing periods during important occasions like festivals, functions or on busy days etc is not very easy and hence a woman would try to postpone her periods. In this scenario, a woman would consume pills etc to postpone her periods and intake of pills might lead to side effects. It is advised that a woman should postpone her period in a natural manner.
Various ways by which a woman can postpone her periods naturally are
By avoiding eating spicy foods:
It is believed that just like cinnamon other spicy foods would prepone the periods in a woman. To delay the periods by 5 to 6 days, a woman must avoid eating spicy food and earn food in the preceding month. Consistency and proper withdrawal from those foods is very important.
By avoiding eating cinnamon:
In almost every household, cinnamon is used as a well known fact. Dishes would get extra flavour with the addition of cinnamon. It is believed when cinnamon is consumed in excess then a woman would get her periods early also. Therefore, it is important that a woman must avoid cinnamon to delay her periods.
By uterine massage:
A woman might be able to delay her menstrual cycle or periods by uterine massage or by simple abdominal message. Muscles could be relaxed by using essential oils and creams and there would be ease of blood flow also. This method would be good to delay periods and it must be done regularly for a week before the period starts.
By eating mustard or coriander seeds:
It would be possible for a woman to make her periods come a little late by consuming certain seeds also. Mustard seeds are effective in delaying the periods. In the first step, a tablespoon of mustard or coriander seeds are taken and soaked in a glass of water overnight. This must be consumed for a week.
By consuming fried lentils:
Naturally, a woman could postpone her periods by a few days by eating fried lentils for 10 days that immediately precede her periods. It is important to mention that the woman must not consume lentils in excess as it might lead to flatulence.
By consuming apple cider vinegar or ACV:
It is known to us that apple cider vinegar of ACV intake would detoxify the body and would help in weight loss etc. Intake of ACV would also lead to delay in the periods in a woman. It is necessary that the woman must take ACV for 10 to 12 days before her period date.
