The Chennai High Court has announced today (Thursday, 7th April) that the 7.5% reservation quota allotted for the students of government high school is VALID!
The State Government of Tamil Nadu ordered a 7.5% quota reserved for the students who studied in government high schools to pursue their higher education in graduate medical and engineering courses, etc.
In this situation, a case was filed in Chennai High Court on behalf of the Government-aided schools demanding for a 7.5% quota for them as well!
When this case came up for enquiry, the panel of judges headed by Chief Justice Muneeswar Nath Bhandari and Judge Bharatha, Chakravarthy delivered a verdict today (Thursday, 7th April)
“As the State Government of Tamil Nadu has the authority to grant quota for the students, the 7.5% quota ordered by it is VALID!
Further, this may be reviewed after a period of 5 years and adecision taken.”
The judges dismissed the cases submitted against this reservation.
